"PINK ROSES, MOMMA'S PLATES", 7.9 x 7.9", Original Watercolor. (AVAILABLE)
"Pink Roses, Momma's Plates", 7.9" x 7.9", Original Watercolor. This quaint little watercolor painting of pink roses is special to me for many reasons. They were such beautiful roses and I put them in an antique vase that was my Mothers. She used it for roses or sweet peas that I remember and now I took it out for these flowers. For the background I pulled out two plates from my cupboard that I use often. I love blue and white plates in the kitchen as well as my Villeroy & Boch dishes. In this case I was the Momma, having had four of my own. It was fun to attempt to paint these dishes and I hope you enjoy seeing them. This painting is available and if interested just send me a note at firstname.lastname@example.org Thank you..Ellie
I grew up in Pasadena, California, and have lived near the edge of the Arroyo my whole life. First with my parents and sister, and then later with my own family, with a son and three daughters. I had a happy and busy life. As the kids grew I also went back to school, earning my RN degree. I then worked at the hospital where I was born, as well as where I had my own children. I always had a desire to paint but never gave it much thought until one day...and the story goes from there. I became self taught until studying watercolor with, Nuttall, Wiegardt, Stoddard, and Swenson, some of the best. From there I went to Art Center College of Design, up on the hill, where I first learned of my passion to also paint in oil. I was signed up to take a workshop with, Charles Reid who is my very favorite artist in watercolor and oil. Since fall, I have been dealing with breast cancer so my desires to take certain classes have to go on the back burner for now. Just a bump in the road is all. I also have great admiration for the talent of Jeremy Lipking. I check out his work frequently and am in awe. He is really good..!!
