"A Checkered Gala Affair", 8" x 8", Oil on Canvas. I love the colors in this painting and it was enjoyable to do. When at the store I bought a little sack of Gala Apples to eat, and probably paint.. I spent several days on this one and I hope you enjoy looking at it and that it gives you pleasure. I have now put the apples into the fruit bowl on the kitchen sink waiting to enjoy eating. The painting is avaible and will be ready to ship as soon as it dries, and it won't take very loong. If interested, please contact me via firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you, Ellie
Two Apples, was the first oil I have done in quite a little while and as much as I love to paint flowers, I love to paint flowers and fruits equally, something fresh and colorful from the garden. The colors just played with my art sense and it seemd like a happy painting to me.. It is small but I have painted it all the way around and top and bottom which means it would look great sitting on a little display easel or leaning against some cook books. It can also be framed but it isn't necessary. . I hope you like my impressionistic way of painting these apples. Thank you for looking.Ellie
I grew up in Pasadena, California, and have lived near the edge of the Arroyo my whole life. First with my parents and sister, and then later with my own family, with a son and three daughters. I had a happy and busy life. As the kids grew I also went back to school, earning my RN degree. I then worked at the hospital where I was born, as well as where I had my own children. I always had a desire to paint but never gave it much thought until one day...and the story goes from there. I became self taught until studying watercolor with, Nuttall, Wiegardt, Stoddard, and Swenson, some of the best. From there I went to Art Center College of Design, up on the hill, where I first learned of my passion to also paint in oil. I was signed up to take a workshop with, Charles Reid who is my very favorite artist in watercolor and oil. Since fall, I have been dealing with breast cancer so my desires to take certain classes have to go on the back burner for now. Just a bump in the road is all. I also have great admiration for the talent of Jeremy Lipking. I check out his work frequently and am in awe. He is really good..!!
