"LILLIES of the DAY", 9" x 12", Original Watercolor (AVAILABLE)
"Lillies of the Day", 9" x 12", Original Watercolor. This painting was inspired by a photo I took at a friends home just before they moved. I already painted a similar one named "Daylillies" which and had requests to do another. I painted it in my own impressionistic style using Holbein artists transparent watercolors. I like the colors and tried to capture the sense of the dark lush background behind the daylillies. I hope you enjoy..and if interested please write me at firstname.lastname@example.org Thank you.
I grew up in Pasadena, California, and have lived near the edge of the Arroyo my whole life. First with my parents and sister, and then later with my own family, with a son and three daughters. I had a happy and busy life. As the kids grew I also went back to school, earning my RN degree. I then worked at the hospital where I was born, as well as where I had my own children. I always had a desire to paint but never gave it much thought until one day...and the story goes from there. I became self taught until studying watercolor with, Nuttall, Wiegardt, Stoddard, and Swenson, some of the best. From there I went to Art Center College of Design, up on the hill, where I first learned of my passion to also paint in oil. I was signed up to take a workshop with, Charles Reid who is my very favorite artist in watercolor and oil. Since fall, I have been dealing with breast cancer so my desires to take certain classes have to go on the back burner for now. Just a bump in the road is all. I also have great admiration for the talent of Jeremy Lipking. I check out his work frequently and am in awe. He is really good..!!
