Three Apples, 11" x 14", Oil on canvas (Available)
Three Apples, 11" x 14". Oil on canvas. Framed outside measurements,16" x 19-1/2".
This is one of my very favorite paintings, and I say that with all humility. I love the colors and the apples themselves. One of my favorite frames which I can't seem to find again. Doesn't matter one bit to me if the apples seem like they may roll off the dish. Ha. To me it just works and I can't really explain why other than my gut tells me it's good. Of course we all know art is subjective. I had a very hard time photographing the colors accurately, hence you get it this way where the color seems true. The price, framed, is $600. My contact is arroyoellie@sbcglobal.net Thanks, and I hope you enjoy it. Eleanor

Earthy Geraniums, 10" x 10", Oil on Gallery Canvas (on Hold)
Earthy Geraniums, 10" x 10", Oil on Gallery Canvas(no frame needed), was painted with palette knife and bristle brush. I enjoyed painting with the unusually dark and earthy background. I tend to paint with lighter or bright colors. There is something very soothing, peaceful, and dramatic in this painting. Right now I have it hanging on my living room wall and it is very happy there. This painting was one of my experiments using gallery canvas. I painted the left hand flower turning the corner to just peak from the side. My touch of whimsical, I guess. The price of this painting is $400, and I'd be happy to have it on your wall too. Sunflowers and Dutch Iris, 20" x 14", Watercolor. (SOLD @ the Autry Museum)
Sunflowers and Dutch Iris, 20" x 14", Watercolor. This painting was done for the Gene Autry Western Heritage Museum in Los Angeles, where it was purchased. I had decided to paint flowers, so chose these because I thought it could stretch the imagination and fit in a western motif. Before I framed it to go to the Autry, I had it photographed and it was used up north for the inside cover of a friends memorial service. She was a dear friend and I'm pleased that it went to both places. It seems that some paintings take on a life of their own, and this one had a good run. Please contact me at arroyoelliestudios@sbcglobal.net if you would like me to paint you a picture. Thank you, Eleanor

Posies and Pomegranates, 9" x 12", Watercolor (Available)
Posies and Pomegranates was created almost a year ago when I was trying to paint something for a Christmas Card. I wanted it to be very loose, watery and colorful. I had something in mind, just looking at the flowers on my sink as I drew this one. Strangely enough I had been painting all day long and as I got up to wash my brushes, was compelled to do this one on the run, quickly standing at the kitchen sink. It is loose because I hurried it, not always a bad thing. I used it for my card and also I made some prints. The prints are selling for 35 dollars/free shipping. This print looks very good matted in 3-4" soft white. Call me if interested, thank you. Eleanor

French Lace, 11" x 8", Watercolor (SOLD) in Canada
French Lace, 11" x 8", Watercolor. This painting was inspired while sitting at a table having some wonderful after dinner conversation. All during dinner I noticed the gorgeous roses in the pink frosted vase and I couldn't keep my eyes off of them. I recognized them to be French Lace, a white rose, lightly tinted with shades of pink and blush. I remained a bit awe struck so decided to ask if it would be alright if I painted them right there at the table. Several people stayed while I painted, having a good time. The price is $250, white matting, pewter color frame. I hope you enjoy this painting. Contact is at arroyoelliestudios@sbcglobal.net Thank you, Ellie

Box of Strawberries, 5" x 7", Watercolor (SOLD)
Box of Strawberries, 5" x 7", Watercolor. This painting came about when I went outside and saw the beautiful day, so clear and warm, with just a hint of a subtle breeze. I wanted to bottle some of the great weather we've had the last few days, if only I could. Of course that wouldn't be possible but I could paint something bright and cheerful. I noticed the strawberries I had just gotten, and immediately knew what I'd paint. I hope they cheer you up when you look at them. One friend said now he wanted some strawberry shortcake, ha. The price is $100/free shipping. Please contact me if interested at arroyoelliestudios@sbcglobal.net. Thank you, Eleanor
