"French Lace Roses, Ole`", 7.9" x 7.9", Original Watercolor (AVAILABLE)
French Lace Roses, Ole`, is a colorful and fun painting I did after picking some roses from my front yard, putting them in a glass jar on my kitchen table. I had these placemats on the table and thought it would be fun to try and paint one under the roses. I love to paint flowers, often times roses or spring flowers. I enjoy trying different containers or plates in my still life work. It seems lately though that I am stuck on canning jars which have always been sentimental to me because of days gone by with my Mother and Grandma. I hope you enjoy the South of the Border flavor of the Ole` mat under the roses. I hope you like my impressionistic style of painting, as it just seems to come naturally. If you would like to purchase this painting, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org Thank you for stopping by. Eleanor
I grew up in Pasadena, California, and have lived near the edge of the Arroyo my whole life. First with my parents and sister, and then later with my own family, with a son and three daughters. I had a happy and busy life. As the kids grew I also went back to school, earning my RN degree. I then worked at the hospital where I was born, as well as where I had my own children. I always had a desire to paint but never gave it much thought until one day...and the story goes from there. I became self taught until studying watercolor with, Nuttall, Wiegardt, Stoddard, and Swenson, some of the best. From there I went to Art Center College of Design, up on the hill, where I first learned of my passion to also paint in oil. I was signed up to take a workshop with, Charles Reid who is my very favorite artist in watercolor and oil. Since fall, I have been dealing with breast cancer so my desires to take certain classes have to go on the back burner for now. Just a bump in the road is all. I also have great admiration for the talent of Jeremy Lipking. I check out his work frequently and am in awe. He is really good..!!
