Boat on the Shore, Lyngdal, Norway, 12" x 16", Oil on canvas. I painted this from a photo sent to me by a friend. Both of our families originated from that end of the world, so I love painting pictures to remind me of my heritage. I suppose part of me will always be there because of the things I experienced while growing up. All of our special days and holidays centered around those customs. My Grandma said it best though one time when we went to Mount Wilson. She sat down on a big rock and looked at her tired feet, and said "Uffda". They were happy good people, honest and real.
